Smackdown Your Vote!
Smackdown Your Vote! was developed in July 2000, when we realized that the popularity of our programming could help reach the 18-30 year old demographic, statistically the group least likely to vote. This non-partisan partnership with such organizations as the League of Women Voters, National Association of Secretaries of State 18to35 and the Harvard Institute of Politics has developed a strong presence in the world of youth vote initiatives. WWE's Smackdown Your Vote! program succeeded in its pledge to achieve a turn-out of 2 million more 18-to 30-year-old voters in 2004, than in 2000, with more than 4.6 million more 18-to 30-year-olds voting in 2004 than did in 2000. Smackdown Your Vote! pledged to get 20 million 18-to 30-year-olds to the polls in 2004 and more than 21 million voted on November 2. It was the highest turnout of voters under 30 since the 1970's.
