WWE Entertainment & Universal Studios Create 'The Undertaker: No Mercy'
Aug 10, 2000
Stamford, Conn./Universal City, CA - WWE Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: WWE) and Universal Studios have teamed up to bring "The Undertaker: No Mercy," a raw, in-your-face, horror experience based on the WWE Superstar The Undertaker to Universal Studios Hollywood's "Halloween Horror Nights IV." The new attraction, the first theme park attraction based on a WWE Superstar, opens Friday the 13th of October and will continue for seven additional nights on October 14, 20-21, 27-31. The Undertaker, along with other WWE Superstars, will appear, in person, at Universal Studios Hollywood - for one night only - on Saturday, October 14 to greet fans and sign autographs.

"This is a terrific opportunity for everyone, especially WWE fans, to visually and interactively experience the life story of The Undertaker and the compelling storytelling aspects of our unique brand of entertainment," said Greg Castronuovo, Vice President of Marketing at WWE. "We're excited to work with Universal Studios to develop this new attraction. It has given us another great outlet to continue to build the WWE brand."

"The Undertaker: No Mercy" will take Halloween Horror Nights guests into the nightmarish forces that shaped The Undertaker. The biographical bedlam will begin in the embalming room of his parents' mortuary, the morbid chamber that constituted the Undertaker's first early playground where guests will witness the fiery explosion that resulted in his parents' violent death. They'll flash forward through his brutal formative years and meet his half-brother, WWE Superstar, Kane, leading up to Undertaker's 'American Badass' persona.

Designed for maximum spine-chilling impact, "Undertaker: No Mercy" will employ visceral, flesh-curdling effects, props, and sets that marry WWE imagery with horror fantasies on a never-before-attempted scale. Lights, smoke, and music will merge to foster an ambiance of suffocating, oppressive darkness and terror. "The Undertaker: No Mercy" will truly represent the state of the art of fear.

"The Undertaker: No Mercy" will be one of many all-new "Halloween Horror Nights IV" attractions. Among many others are " "Buffy & Angel: Hellmouth Haunt," an attraction created by the creators of the WB Network's series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel;" Rob Zombie's "The House Of 1000 Corpses Maze, " based on Zombie's upcoming debut as a director and screenwriter, and "Clive Barker's Harvest," an all-new maze created by the noted author and filmmaker.

Halloween Horror Nights tickets are $39 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster locations, at Universal Studios Hollywood or at Spencer Gifts. "Stay & Scream" tickets, a companion ticket "Halloween Horror Nights IV" purchased with a regular Universal Studios Hollywood admission's ticket, are $20. Celebrity Annual Pass holders can purchase a "Halloween Horror Nights IV" ticket for $19 for themselves and $25 for their guests.

Hours of operation for "Halloween Horror Nights IV" will be 7:00PM to 1:00AM. For more information on Universal's "Halloween Horror Nights IV," contact Universal Studios Hollywood at 818/622-3801.
