WWE Entertainment Expands TV Distribution Into Eastern Europe Signs deal with Russia's StoryFirst Communications and Balkan News Corporation of Bulgaria
StoryFirst Communications in Russia will broadcast 52 hours of WWE Superstars® on its national network, CTC channel. WWE also signed a one year distribution agreement with Balkan News Corporation of Bulgaria to broadcast 104 hours of RAW IS WAR® and SmackDown!® on the country's national network, bTV channel.
WWE's Eastern Europe distribution agreements complement the company's recently announced agreements in Western Europe, including the UK (BSKYB and Channel 4), Germany (Premiere World and TM3) and France (Canal Plus).
Andrew Whitaker, Senior Vice President, International Television, WWE, said: "I am confident that Russian and Bulgarian television viewers will react warmly to WWE's unique brand of sports-entertainment programming. WWE's global roll-out of programming continues at a strong pace and distribution in Eastern Europe is an important part of the process."
