Hollywood Hulk Hogan Autobiography Hits Stores Today

Nov 19, 2002

Hollywood Hulk Hogan’s autobiography hits stores around the country today, the first autobiography under the WWE’s new book deal with Simon and Schuster.

Promotion for the book begins in earnest on Wednesday, November 20, on The Today Show, and kicks off a month-long media book tour across the country. In addition, the Hulkster will be seen on a billboard in Times Square. The book will be promoted heavily on WWE television programs and on wwe.com. TNN will be participating in the promotional effort, running a trivia contest with autographed books for prizes.

The icon behind Hulkamania™ sets the record straight - and lets fans in on his real life story in HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN (World Wrestling Entertainment Books /Pocket Books; November 19, 2002/$26.00). With striking candor, warmth and humor, Hogan reflects on his childhood, relationships and defining moments while tracing his turbulent 25-year career in a formidable and fiercely competitive business.

Hogan is a bigger than life persona and a living wrestling legend. He blazed into wrestling, wearing a flamboyant red-and-yellow furry boa in the ring and tossing around contenders as if they were ragdolls - but only after saying his prayers and taking his vitamins. From his first pro match in 1977, under the bad-guy guise of Super Destroyer, to his commanding comeback at WrestleManiaR X8 in March 2002, brilliantly losing to The Rock®, this six-foot, seven-inch, 275-pound, larger-than-life wrestler has been cheered, jeered and plagued by myths, rumors and controversies.
