WWE announces Super Bowl plans

STAMFORD Conn. Jan. 28 2000–WWE Entertainment Inc. (NMS: WWE) announced that during Super Bowl XXXIV on Sunday January 30 the Company will air a new WWE brand commercial. Then during halftime the Company will broadcast WWE Halftime Heat on USA cable network (NMS: USAI) featuring a special surprise match between WWE Super Stars. WWE Halftime Heat replaces the regularly scheduled WWE Sunday Night Heat.

"This way football fans can enjoy non-stop action all evening long ” said Jim Byrne SVP of Marketing for the WWE. "Based on the success of last year’s WWE Halftime Heat football fans love the WWE and WWE fans love football.” This is the second year in a row the WWE has advertised on the Super Bowl and broadcast WWE Halftime Heat. Last year’s Super Bowl commercial was favorably received while WWE Halftime Heat earned an impressive 6.6 rating attracting approximately 5 million households.
