Stamford Conn JUNE 20 2000 — WWE Entertainment Inc. (NMS-WWE) and Subway present the Pay-Per-View extravaganza King of the Ring live Sunday June 25 2000 at 8 p.m.(EST). King of the Ring will originate from the FleetCenter in Boston Mass. Tickets for this event sold out in four-and-a-half minutes.

In the main event of King of the Ring WWE Champion Triple H will team with Vince and Shane McMahon to battle The Rock Undertaker and Kane. Last week on Raw is War WWE CEO Linda McMahon declared a unique stipulation. If The Rock Undertaker or Kane win the contest the Superstar that scored the pinfall will be declared the WWE Champion. However if any member of Triple H’s team wins the contest then Triple H retains the title. Triple H is furious at this announcement and feels it is not fair that if either Vince or Shane McMahon get pinned he still loses the Championship.

In addition to the six-man tag team main event a new King of the Ring will be crowned. The participants in this single elimination tournament are: Kurt Angle Chris Jericho Crash Holly Bull Buchanan Rikishi Chris Benoit Val Venis and Eddie Guerrero. The winner of the King of the Ring tournament will receive a title shot at the WWE Champion at a later date.

In a special attraction at King of the Ring there will be a handicap dumpster/table match between The Dudley Boyz and X-Pac Road Dogg and Tori. Over the past few weeks the two tag teams have been at war with each other. Their feud will culminate at the King of the Ring.

WWE King of the Ring will be broadcast live from the sold-out FleetCenter in Boston Mass. via Pay-Per-View and satellite technologies on Sunday June 25 2000 at 8 p.m. (EST) with a replay immediately following at 11 p.m. This three-hour spectacular is available via cable and satellite providers in all 50 states for $29.95 as well as internationally in Canada Mexico and the Caribbean. An "Encore Presentation" of King of the Ring will take place Tuesday June 27 2000 at 8 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (EST).
