Smackdown Your Vote Comes to Pennsylvania

(STAMFORD CONN. — September 21 2000) — The "SmackDown Your Vote" campaign comes to Pennsylvania on Sunday.

"SmackDown Your Vote! " is a non-partisan voter registration initiative being undertaken by WWE Entertainment Inc. (NMS: WWE) MTV’s Choose or Lose Youth Vote 2000 Project Vote Smart and the National Association of Secretaries of State. To date the program has registered more than 91 000 new voters in less than two months.

Youth Vote 2000 volunteers will be registering new voters at the UNFORGIVEN Pay-Per-View at the First Union Center in Philadelphia at RAW IS WAR at Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State University (the programs debut on TNN) and at WWE SMACKDOWN! at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.

The volunteers also will be collecting signatures on the "SmackDown Challenge" petition. The petition calls for the Presidential candidates to make their own townhall debate on October 17 in St. Louis to be a "youth" debate with youth as a majority of the audience asking the questions. The petition also calls on George W. Bush the Republican Party nominee for President of the United States and Al Gore the Democratic Party nominee for President of the United States to appear together on WWE SmackDown! to speak to the young voters of America.

"Smackdown Your Vote!" has been registering and bringing election information to thousands of previously unregistered voters during WWE arena events at WWE New York a site-based entertainment complex in New York City’s Times Square and through the company’s Web site wwevote.com as well as through MTV’s chooseorlose.com. On-line registration for the program is being provided through links to Rock the Vote.

By teaming up with the WWE Choose or Lose will have an effective new partner to reach out and register the largest new generation of voters since the baby boom.

Project Vote Smart provides factual information on more than 13 000 candidates running for president Congress governor and state legislatures. Project Vote Smart was founded by former presidents Ford and Carter and other national leaders as a non-partisan research library.
