WWE and Nintendo Team Up for Legend of Zelda Sweepstakes Fusion Campaign Includ ...
STAMFORD Conn.–Nov. 14 2000– ARMAGEDDON IS COMING for WWE and The Legend of Zelda® fans. WWE Entertainment Inc. and Nintendo of America Inc. have teamed up to give a lucky fan a trip for two to the WWE pay-per-view spectacular Armageddon on December 10th.
The sweepstakes is part of a joint promotion for Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda®: Majora’s Mask video game for Nintendo 64 that is built around an extensive television and web fusion campaign.
To promote the sweepstakes a :30 second television commercial was filmed live at a WWE SmackDown!(TM) Event and produced by WWE’s in-house creative team. It features a Zelda video gamer who just like the hero in the actual video game only has 72 hours to save the world. Everyone stops what they are doing to witness if he wins or loses even WWE fans at SmackDown!(TM) The new commercial which can be seen on RAW is WAR (TNN Monday 9:00-11:00pm EST) and on SmackDown!(TM) (UPN Thursday 8:00-10:00pm EST) features WWE Superstars The Hardy Boyz.
Now through December 4 fans can enter the sweepstakes at www.wwezelda.com. The campaign also includes extensive coverage on www.wwe.com through banners buttons interstitials as well as an extensive Legend of Zelda® area of the site.
