STAMFORD Conn.–Dec. 7 2000–WWE Entertainment Inc. (NYSE: WWE) and Castrol GTX present the pay-per-view extravaganza Armageddon live this Sunday December 10 2000 at 8:00 p.m. ET from the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham AL.

In the main event of Armageddon six WWE Superstars will enter the ominous Hell in the Cell as Champion Kurt Angle defends against Triple H The Rock Undertaker Rikishi and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Over the past few weeks the war between these Superstars has escalated. Last Monday on Raw is War Kurt Angle Triple H and Rikishi formed an alliance when they attacked Undertaker Rock and Austin backstage. But can this bond stay strong until Armageddon where it will be every man for himself? WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is furious that this match is taking place and blames Commissioner Mick Foley. The previous Hell in the Cell matches have been classics and these six Superstars are looking to rise to the occasion.

In a special grudge match at Armageddon Chris Jericho will face Kane in a Last Man Standing match. These two Superstars are no strangers to each other. Since their feud began over a "cup of coffee" two months ago the rivalry has turned personal. In this match there are no pinfalls and the Superstar that answers the ten count will be declared the victor.

Also on the card at Armageddon "The One" Billy Gunn will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Chris Benoit. Benoit is a former Intercontinental Champion and over the past few weeks the feud between these two Superstars has intensified. Benoit attacked Gunn on numerous occasions and placed him in the "Crippler Crossface" submission hold. Gunn is looking for revenge at Armageddon.

Armageddon will be broadcast live from the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham AL via pay-per-view and satellite technologies on Sunday December 10 2000 at 8:00 p.m. ET with a replay immediately following at 11:00 p.m. This three-hour spectacular is available via cable and satellite providers in all 50 states for $29.95 as well as internationally in Canada Mexico and the Caribbean.
