STAMFORD Conn. July 16 2001 – World Wrestling WWE Entertainment’s (NYSE: WWE) WWE SmackDown! ™ on the UPN Network marks its 100th episode on July 19 2001. WWE and UPN announced today that they would offer two special live episodes of WWE SmackDown! ™ in August as a thank you to fans for making it the most popular show on UPN and the most popular show among teens on broadcast television on Thursday nights.

"Our fans have made WWE SmackDown! ™ one of the most popular and talked about shows on television " said WWE CEO Linda McMahon. "It’s a pleasure to offer a live WWE SmackDown! ™ for two nights in August as a special thank you."

Fans in Salt Lake City Utah will host the first live TV episode of WWE SmackDown! ™ on Thursday August 16. The second live broadcast will be the following Thursday August 23 in Denver Colorado.
