STAMFORD CONN. November 5 2001 – WrestleMania® X-8 is on its way to becoming the highest grossing event in WWE Entertainment (NYSE-WWE) history.

The company announced today that approximately 52 000 tickets have been sold for WrestleMania® X-8 which will be held on March 17 2002 at Toronto SkyDome. The event has grossed more than $3.5US million to date already tieing it with last year’s record-setting WrestleMania in Houston Tex. More tickets will be available for sale prior to the event once staging decisions are completed. In addition SkyDome is looking to add seating for the event and to sell all its luxury boxes.

"The support we are receiving for this event is consistent with the loyalty we have seen displayed by our great fans. They will not be disappointed. Tickets for WrestleMania® X-8 went on-sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on November 3 and almost 2 000 tickets were sold in the first minute. According to Ticketmaster Canada WrestleMania® X-8 sold more tickets in a shorter period of time than any other single event in its history including concerts by the Rolling Stones.

WrestleMania® X-8 travel packages are already sold out with the total number nearly twice last year’s travel package sales. Fans from 15 countries including Canada United States Japan Ireland the United Kingdom and Australia will be attending the Toronto event. WrestleMania® X-8 will be broadcast on Pay-Per-View to audiences in 13 countries including the United States Canada the United Kingdom and Japan among others.

WrestleMania® X-8 Weekend kicks off with FAN AXXESS the interactive behind-the-scenes WWE® fan festival. It will be held from Thursday March 14 to Saturday March 16 at the Automotive Building at The National Trade Centre at Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto. Ticket information for FAN AXXESS will be available in early 2002.
