The latest edition of Cableworld Magazine has WrestleMania listed at number 6 on its list of Cable Programming’s Top 50 shows televised events and moments of the past 30 years.  Calling it “colorful and campy ” Cableworld noted that “this 1985 event made wrestling a ratings stronghold and a pay per view cash machine.”

Other cultural touchstones in the top 6 included Live From Baghdad: First Night of Gulf War Coverage (CNN) The Sopranos (HBO) ESPN Sunday Night Football Nicktoons (Nickelodeon) and Choose or Lose (MTV).  Others in the top 50 include The O.J. Simpson Trial ESPN Sports Center The Daily Show Crossfire Larry King Sex And The City and South Park.
