White House Press Secretary Tony Snow and Jeanne Shaeen Director of the Harvard Institute of Politics and former governor of New Hampshire are the latest national figures to be featured in new podcasts in Smackdown Your Vote!’s continuing series “The Nowinski Perspective ” hosted by WWE Political Correspondent Chris Nowinski™. The podcasts can be found at smackdownyourvote.com and on iTunes.
Also featured in new podcasts are Heather Smith Director of Youth Voter Strategies and Maria Theresa Petersen Executive Director of Voto Latino.
The interviews focus on why adults 30 and under should vote in the upcoming mid-term election touching upon issues outlined in Smackdown Your Vote!’s 18-30 Voter Issues Paper (VIP) which includes questions on the war in Iraq and economic issues. Prior podcasts in the series have featured Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman and Democratic National Committee Chairman Gov. Howard Dean among others.
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi is slated to be the final podcast participant in the series. Her podcast is scheduled to be posted on Monday.
In Snow’s podcast he lays out the president’s position on Iraq the economy and health care and talks about the importance of voting. Gov. Shaheen in her podcast discusses the recent findings of a poll released by the Harvard Institute of Politics this week and why young people could potentially swing this year’s election.
